Marc Zwelling, the president of Vector Research, introduced polling to Canadian unions, helping them develop the key strategies and messages that resonate with their members and the public. He has has facilitated hundreds of planning and strategy events for organizations in all sectors including charities, financial services, publishing, politics, resources, unions, health and education.

Media Training

Marc was the creator and developer for the Sound Bite Machine, a brain-storming aid for leaders, politicians and others facing unscripted media interviews and scrums.

Keynote speaking

Marc has been keynote speaker at meetings and seminars for the Ontario Hospital Association, the Conference Board of Canada, Canadian Broadcasting Corp. (CBC), the Nursing Leadership Institute, British Columbia Human Resources Management Association, the Health Leaders’ Institute, community colleges, the Canadian Labour Congress National Political Action Committee, McGill Institute for the Study of Canada, the Canadian Nurses’ Association and the Canadian Forces Staff and Command College (NATO Officers’ Course).

Consulting

Marc has consulted on long-term economic, social, and technological change for the presidents of Ontario's community colleges (training and employment), the Science Council of Canada (new technologies), the Privy Council Office (communications), and other organizations.

Scenario forecasting

In 1982-98 Marc was director of forecasting for the Intercorporate Futures Group, a network of executives in long-range planning in 50 business, government and nonprofit organizations at organizations including Bell Canada, Enbridge, NOVA, CMHC, TransCanada PipeLines, Manitoba Hydro, CN Rail, Sears, and other organizations in the public and private sectors.

In 1982-1996 Marc in collaboration with the Canadian futurist and author John Kettle published The FutureLetter, a newsletter on marketing, economic, demographic, technological, and social trends with some 1,200 readers.


Marc is a member of the Marketing Research and Intelligence Association and the American Association for Public Opinion Research, is a MRIA Certified Marketing Research Professional, a designation limited to fewer than 15% of Canadian market researchers.
